Creating a squad and inviting members
When you create a Squaddle account, you'll be prompted to set up your first squad. You can also create additional squads any time from your squads page.

Creating a squad
- 1
- Tap 'Create new squad' and choose a category – 'Sport' or 'Something else'. This helps us understand how Squaddle is being used; it doesn't affect how the product works.
- 2
- Give your squad a name. You can rename your squad later via squad settings (tap the three-dot menu in the Squad tab).
- 3
- Enter your mobile number to enable WhatsApp notifications, or skip this step and add it later in your account settings.
- 4
- Share your joining link. Squaddle generates a unique link for your squad. Copy it and share it with your members — by WhatsApp, email, or wherever you communicate. Note that Squaddle runs independently of any existing WhatsApp group chats, so your squad messages won't get mixed up with general chat.
- 5
- Members click the link and are guided through a quick sign-up (about 30 seconds). If they're already on Squaddle, they'll just join your squad directly.
- 6
- Appoint an admin (optional) to share responsibility for managing your squad. See appointing an admin for more information.
Looking to join an existing squad?
Squads are invite-only; there's no directory of existing squads to search. If you think your team is already on Squaddle, ask them to send you the joining link.
Creating multiple squads
You can create as many squads as you like – useful if you organise activities for different groups of people, or for the same group on different days of the week.
To create another squad, go to 'Squads' and tap 'Create new squad'. Getting set up works the same whether it's your first squad or your fifteenth.
Invites and messages go out to each squad separately, under the squad name you choose, so there's little risk of mixing them up. If some members belong to more than one of your squads, a distinctive name (e.g. 'Tuesday 5-a-side' rather than 'Football') helps them tell invitations apart at a glance.
Renaming a squad
It's straightforward to change the name of your squad if necessary. Just go to 'Squads' and choose 'Squad settings' from the three-dot menu for the squad you want to edit. Type in the new name directly, and we'll save changes automatically.
Members aren't notified of the name change, so it's worth letting them know in advance so they recognise future invitations that appear under the new name.
Deleting a squad
Choose 'Squad settings' from the three-dot menu from the 'Squads' page, and tap 'Delete squad'. This removes all members and deletes any upcoming activities. This cannot be undone.
Members are not currently notified when a squad is deleted, even if it has upcoming activities. If you want to let members know, you should cancel upcoming activities or send a message to your squad before you hit cancel.
Can I reinstate a deleted squad?
Deleting a squad is permanent and cannot be undone. You'll need to create the squad from scratch and invite members again.
